Swaytype Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
Swaytype is an iOS keyboard that rewrites short messages into different tones (Casual, Flirt, Professional). The app is operated by Enrico Carrasco Network, a sole trader registered in the Netherlands.

2. What we collect and why
We collect only the data we need to make the app work. We do not run analytics SDKs and we do not sell data.
When you sign in with Apple
We receive your name and email from Apple’s Sign in with Apple service the first time you sign in. We use them to create your account and to contact you about your account if needed.
When you tap a rewrite button in the keyboard
The text you have selected in the host app, plus the rewrite mode you tapped (Casual, Flirt, Professional), is sent to our server. Our server passes the text to OpenAI to generate the rewrite, and returns the rewritten text to your keyboard.
We also receive technical metadata about the request: a detected language code (for example “en”, “nl”), how long the request took, how many tokens it used, your subscription tier, and whether you hit your daily quota. This metadata is used to operate the service, enforce quotas, and diagnose problems.
Training-sample storage (off by default in production)
If you turn on “Help improve Swaytype” in Settings, we additionally store the text you sent, the rewrite we returned, and the final text after any edits you made, so we can improve the rewrite prompts. This setting is OFF by default. You can turn it off at any time and delete every sample we hold from the same Settings screen.
When you subscribe
Apple processes your payment. We never see your payment details. We receive a subscription receipt that tells us your tier (free, monthly, yearly, lifetime) and when it expires.
3. Legal basis (GDPR)
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Creating and operating your account | Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Sending your text to OpenAI to produce a rewrite | Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Storing rewrite samples to improve prompts | Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), opt-in via Settings |
| Subscription receipt processing | Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Quota enforcement and abuse prevention | Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
4. Who we share data with
We share data only with the four service providers listed below, and only what each one needs to do its job. We never sell data to anyone. Each provider is contractually bound to protect your data to the same standard described in this policy, and to use it only on our instructions.
Apple Inc. provides Sign in with Apple and processes In-App Purchases. Apple receives the data necessary to authenticate you and to charge your Apple ID. See apple.com/legal/privacy.
Supabase Inc. hosts our database and server functions. Your account record and (if you opted in) your rewrite samples are stored on Supabase infrastructure. See supabase.com/privacy.
OpenAI, L.L.C.generates the rewrite. Each rewrite request sends the text you selected, plus the mode and detected language, to OpenAI through our server. OpenAI processes the text to produce the response. OpenAI’s API terms state that API inputs and outputs are not used to train their models by default. See openai.com/policies/api-data-usage-policies and openai.com/policies/privacy-policy.
RevenueCat, Inc. manages subscription state. RevenueCat receives your Apple subscription receipt to track entitlement. See revenuecat.com/privacy.
5. How long we keep data
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Account record (name, email, tier) | Until you delete your account |
| Rewrite samples (only if you opted in) | 365 days, then automatically deleted, or sooner if you delete them yourself |
| Quota and usage events | 90 days, then aggregated |
| Server logs (metadata only, no message text) | 30 days |
When you delete your account, your account record and all rewrite samples are removed within 30 days.
6. Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, and port your personal data, and to object to processing. You can exercise most of these directly inside the Swaytype app:
- Log out.Settings > Account > Log out.
- Delete saved rewrite samples.Settings > Privacy > Delete my saved rewrites.
- Delete your entire account.Settings > Account > Delete Account. This removes your account record, all rewrite samples, and revokes the Sign in with Apple link to Swaytype.
- Manage subscription.Settings > Subscription > Manage Subscription. This opens your Apple ID subscription page.
For any other request, including a copy of your data, write to enricocarrasco1@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).
7. Children
Swaytype is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has used Swaytype, contact us and we will delete the account.
8. International transfers
Some of our service providers (OpenAI, RevenueCat) are based in the United States. When data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, depending on the provider.
9. Changes to this policy
We will update this page if our data practices change. The effective date at the top of the page reflects the latest version. Material changes will also be announced inside the app on next launch.
